Kuwaiti FM Holds Talks With Indian Counterpart During Official Visit To New Delhi

NEW DELHI, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya on Wednesday held official talks with India's Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during his official visit to New Delhi, accompanied by a delegation.
At the outset of the talks, Minister Al-Yahya conveyed the warm greetings of the leadership, government, and people of Kuwait to the leadership, government, and people of India, wishing them continued growth and prosperity. He praised the historic friendship between the two nations, highlighting decades of close cooperation and strong partnership.
On his part, the Indian Minister of External Affairs expressed his best regards to the political leadership of Kuwait and valued the deep ties between the two countries and their peoples.
Jaishankar expressed his country's pride in the distinguished friendship and close cooperation with Kuwait in various fields.
During the official talks, both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and advance them towards further development and growth.
Additionally, they discussed the latest developments on regional and international fronts, with a focus on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and support international efforts to halt ongoing escalation, ensuring the conflict does not widen, and intensifying diplomatic and political efforts to find a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, aiming to bring peace and stability to the region.
Both ministers reiterated their mutual commitment to strengthening stability and security in the region and the world.
Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed to establish a joint committee for bilateral cooperation, reflecting both countries' determination to elevate their bilateral relations. (end)
