Seoul: South Korea's consumer prices increased at less than the central bank's 2% target for the third consecutive month in November, data showed Tuesday.

Consumer prices, a key gauge of inflation, rose 1.5% from a year earlier last month, following a 1.3% on-year increase in October, South Korea News Agency (Yonhap) reported the data from Statistics Korea.

September saw a 1.6% on-year increase.

South Korea's consumer inflation has stayed below 3% since April and fell below the inflation target rate of 2% for the first time in September.

Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, added 1.9%, compared with a 1.8% on-year increase in October, the data showed.
