Azerbaijan To Upgrade Water Supply To Boyuk Khinisli Village In Shamakhi District
The Directorate of Construction Objects under the State Water Resources Agency of Azerbaijan has begun preparations in this regard.
The directorate estimates that work to improve the village's water supply will cost 274,176 manat ($161,280).
To note, the above project aims to enhance access to drinking water and sewage services for 41,000 people in Shamakhi city, taking into account projected developments until 2035.
The project commenced execution in 2010. A drainage-type irrigation facility was constructed along the Pirsaatchai River to secure the city's drinking water supply, with a capacity of 7,000 cubic meters per day (80 liters per second). A treatment and pumping facility was constructed at the water source. Three reservoirs with a combined capacity of 8,000 cubic meters were created at the source and next to the city to secure a sustainable water supply. Main pipelines of 12.3 kilometers were installed from the water source and reservoirs to the municipal network.
A drinking water network measuring 134 kilometers was constructed in Shamakhi city, equipped with meters for 8,300 connections. This guaranteed water distribution to subscribers via the new network. A sewage network spanning 130 kilometers, an 11-kilometer sewage collector, and a pumping station for the collection and diversion of wastewater to treatment facilities were created. In the project's concluding phase, a wastewater treatment facility with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per day was constructed and inaugurated.
As part of the project, a new administrative building for the city's water utility management was also constructed.
