Four years have passed since Ganja city was subjected to a
rocket attack by Armenian armed forces for the fifth time during
the Second Karabakh War.
On October 17, 2020, at around 1 o'clock in the night, Armenian
military tropps once again treacherously and cruelly fired at
Javadkhan settlement in the center of Ganja city with Scout
operational-tactical ballistic missiles.
During the attack of the enemy, the residential houses were
completely destroyed, and the residents were buried under the
rubble.
As a result, 15 people were martyred, more than 55 people were
injured, and numerous civil infrastructure facilities and vehicles
were heavily damaged. Minors, women, and the elderly are among the
dead and injured.
In addition, on the same day - October 17, at around 1 o'clock
at night, the Armenian armed forces fired rockets at Mingachevir, a
large industrial city located more than 100 km away from the former
contact line, targeting Mingachevir Hydroelectric Power Station,
the largest thermal power plant in the South Caucasus. The missiles
were neutralized by the Air Defense Forces of Azerbaijan while the
one failed to explode by fortune.
To recall, during the Second Garabagh War, Armenian armed forces
attacked the city of Ganja 5 times (October 4, 5, 8, 11, 17) with
rockets and heavy artillery. As a result, 27 people were martyred,
175 people were injured, civil infrastructure facilities located in
the city and vehicles were heavily damaged.
