(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ZANGILAN, Azerbaijan, October 7. Underground cable lines have been laid from the "Zangilan" substation to supply electricity to the Digital Control Center for the Zangilan Electric Power Network, operated by Azerishig OJSC, Deputy Head of the Karabakh DCC Rashad Ibrahimov said in a statement to the media, Trend reports.

"The Zangilan Digital Control Center building consists of two floors. The first floor houses two 2,500 kV power transformers and 35- and 0.4-kilovolt closed distribution units. The second floor contains control rooms, technical spaces, and utility rooms. To supply electricity from the 110/35/10-kilovolt 'Zangilan' substation, dual-circuit underground cable lines have been installed," Ibrahimov said.

He emphasized that the project is an innovative solution for monitoring and managing the power grid.

"This project develops optical digital measuring transformers and new-generation digital equipment complexes at substations. It ensures precise measurements and automates processes, reducing human error, enhancing reliability, and lowering energy transmission losses. Additionally, it cuts production and operational costs," he added.

The center will allow consumers to receive online notifications in advance about power supply disruptions. The automatic control system also ensures smooth integration of renewable energy sources, eliminating power outages. The digital substation operates in a multifunctional mode based on the amount of energy being transmitted or received, coordinating devices and equipment. It adapts automatically to the distribution network's requirements, ensures data and security systems' decision-making capabilities, and integrates "green" energy sources into the network.

The closed-type substation operates remotely, removing the need for constant on-site personnel.
