Georgian Tbilisi Celebrates Azerbaijan's National Music Day (PHOTO)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. The Day of Azerbaijani National music has been celebrated at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, Trend reports via the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event, organized by the Alliance Youth Center, was attended by the responsible officer of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia, the rector of the conservatory, teachers, and students, as well as members of the Alliance.

According to the information, in his speech, Rector George Vatchnadze talked about the cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia and highly appreciated the organization of such events, as well as expressed gratitude for providing the Conservatory with notes of national musical works of six prominent Azerbaijani composers.

The responsible officer of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia, Ramiz Hajizada, talked of the life and works of genius composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli. He called the celebration of Uzeyir Hajibeyli's birthday and National Music Day in Tbilisi worthy of approval and noted the high level of relations between the two countries, particularly cultural ties.

Afterward, the Chairperson of the Center, Leyla Amrakhova, and other participants talked about the life and works of U.Hajibeyli, the opinions of Georgian cultural and artistic figures about him, as well as Azerbaijani musicians born in Tbilisi.

“Uzeyir Hajibeyli is known as the creator of the first samples of opera, the First Musical Comedy, and several other genres in the history of Azerbaijani music, as well as laid the foundations of new ways of development and a national composer school in the history of Azerbaijani music culture. His bright memory will always live in the hearts of our people,” said the executive director of the Center, Rena Huseynova.

Then Azerbaijani student of the Alliance Medina Durmushova performed the songs“The Black Sea was Raging” (“Çırpınırdı Qara Deniz”) and“Ay Lachin”, and Ramin Pirmamedov performed the songs “Ayrilig” and“Baku Nights” on the tar.
