Kazakhstan Highlights Surge In Nationwide Agriculture

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 9. Kazakhstan is
experiencing significant growth in the agricultural sector, Prime
Minister Olzhas Bektenov said during today's meeting with President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana, Trend reports via Akorda.
"This year, the key drivers of economic development have been
the manufacturing industry and the construction sector. Nearly 4.5
million hectares, or 27 percent of the total area, have been
harvested across the country for the main grain crops.
With an average yield of 15 quintals per hectare, about 6.6
million tons of grain have been harvested, which is 40 percent
higher than last year's figures. The delivery of subsidized diesel
fuel is proceeding according to schedule," he explained.
The prime minister also briefed on the provision of housing for
residents affected by floods.
"New homes have been provided to 7,463 families. Additionally,
479 houses are nearing the final stages of construction.
Compensation for repairs has also been paid to 9,171 families," he
said.
At the end of the meeting, the head of state emphasized the
importance of ongoing efforts and gave several instructions for the
further socio-economic development of the country.
