Azerbaijan's Baku To Host International Conference On Bonaire Island


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. The international conference dedicated to the island of Bonaire, which was colonized by the Netherlands, will be held in Baku on August 22 under the joint organization of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) and the Bonaire Movement for Human Rights and Change, Trend reports.

The conference titled“The Path of Self-Determination of Bonaire Island at the UN General Assembly in Baku” will be attended by representatives of the people of Bonaire struggling against colonialism and seeking freedom, as well as officials and officials of regional organizations, human rights activists, leaders of non-governmental organizations, experts and researchers on decolonization from Belize, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, St. Lucia, the UK, Mexico, the Netherlands, the UN and other international organizations.

The conference will discuss the struggle of the people of Bonaire, enslaved by the Netherlands, for liberation from colonization, as well as work to put the issue on the agenda of relevant international organizations, and international legal possibilities.
