Off-Duty Officer Rescues Child From Drowning In Northern Jordan Valley

Amman, July 29 (Petra) – An off-duty member of the external patrols saved the life of an 11-year-old girl who fell into the King Abdullah Canal in the northern Jordan Valley.
Second Lieutenant Rami Nofal recounted that while he was on leave and near his house close to the canal, he heard cries for help from a group of people after the girl fell into the water. Responding immediately, he jumped into the canal to rescue her. The girl was subsequently taken to Abu Obeida Governmental Hospital.
According to a statement by the Public Security Department on Monday, Nofal credited his successful rescue to the swimming and diving courses he attended as part of his police training, as well as his prior experience in the field.
The child's mother expressed profound gratitude to the Lieutenant for his heroic efforts, saying that this act is a testament to the chivalry and dedication of Public Security personnel.
The Director of the Public Security Department, Major General Obaidallah Maaytah, gave orders to honor Nofal in recognition of his bravery, exemplifying the Public Security's mission to protect lives at all times.
