38Th Jerash Festival For Culture And Arts Kicked Off In Jordan


(MENAFN- Nam News Network) AMMAN, Jul 25 (NNN-PETRA) – The 38th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, kicked off yesterday, in the ancient historic city of Jerash, some 50 km to the north of Amman.

This year's festival celebrates the silver jubilee of King Abdullah II's accession to the throne and draws together participants from over 40 countries, reaffirming commitment to Arab causes, primarily the Palestinian cause, and showing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Participants from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Tunisia, Oman, and Jordan, also set up pavilions to showcase traditional industries, heritage, culture, media, and architecture from these countries.

The 11-day event also features a cultural and artistic programme, including a series of poetry evenings, with poets from Jordan and the Arab world, among other activities.

The festival will also showcase art, cultural, and folkloric activities from Palestine, including performances by poets and singers from the Gaza Strip.– NNN-PETRA
