(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, July 23 (Petra) -- Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar and Egypt's Culture Minister Ahmed Hanno Tuesday held talks at the Royal Cultural Centre that focused on ties.
Najjar said the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts programme includes themes of solidarity with the Palestinian people and cause.
She said, "The Egyptian Minister's presence at the Festival opening is to learn about the cultural dimension, Jordanian creativity, the state of solidarity, the Jordanian national dialogue and building awareness through the Jerash Festival."
She noted that cultural cooperation and work with Egypt would continue, especially in creative industries, adding that Jordanian-Egyptian cultural relations are "deep, extended and renewed."
Hanno, who is visiting Jordan to participate in the 38th session of the Festival, said, "My visit to Jordan is the first since I became Egypt's Culture Minister," adding that Cairo's cultural ties with the Kingdom "are deep and historical."
She added, "Egypt and Jordan are linked by a common history and visions of cultural work, and we have a permanent and ongoing cultural exchange."
