Kenyan law enforcement detains suspected serial murderer

(MENAFN) In a significant breakthrough for Kenyan law enforcement, Police have apprehended a man suspected of being a serial killer responsible for the deaths of numerous women over the past two years in Nairobi. Collins Jumaisi Khalusa, identified as the primary suspect, has reportedly confessed to murdering 42 women, including his own wife, Imelda Judith Khalenya, since 2022. The revelation came during a media briefing by Mohammed Amin, Chief of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), who described Khalusa as a "psychopathic serial killer" with a blatant disregard for human life.

According to Amin, Khalusa's first victim was his wife, whom he allegedly strangled and then dismembered before disposing of her remains at the Kware landfill in Nairobi’s Embakasi neighborhood. Khalusa, aged 33, was captured on Monday night following a trail led by his mobile phone signals. Detectives tracked him down after he made a mobile money transaction using the number of one of his victims.

At the time of his arrest, Khalusa was reportedly attempting to lure another woman. Detectives have since urged her to come forward to provide a statement. Khalusa was detained roughly 500 meters from the Kware dumpsite, an area where several bodies of women had been discovered. Following his confession, Khalusa guided detectives to the location, where nine bodies have been recovered so far.
