Indian Forces Gun Down Two Militants As Infiltration Bid Foiled In Jammu And Kashmir


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW DELHI, July 18 (KUNA) -- Two militants were killed on Thursday in an encounter with Indian security forces as the latter foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Kupwara district of northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, according to local reports.
The Press Trust of India said quoting officials that security forces received intelligence information about an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Keran sector of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
An exchange of fire took place after the security forces challenged the militants leading to the killing of two militants, it added.
Four Indian soldiers were killed two days back in an encounter with the militants in Doda district in the disputed valley.
New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies. (end)
