(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, July 17 (Petra) – The Audit Bureau (AB) and Ernst and Young - Jordan (EY) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster joint cooperation and provide professional training for the bureau's auditors, to align with international best practices in this aspect.
President of the AB, Radi Hamadin, said the agreement marks a "significant" step in enhancing the "institutional" capabilities of the bureau's staff.
This collaboration, he noted, will facilitate exchange of expertise with top international auditing organizations like EY, known for its extensive advisory and training experience.
Under the memo, a "comprehensive" legal framework is outlined to detail tasks and duties of each party and specific training areas and timeframes are provided to implement specialized and intensive programs aimed at boosting the professional competence of the bureau's auditors.
The MoU also features key training issues, primarily reporting standards, international finance, global auditing criteria, internal control auditing tools, and related computerized systems.
Hamadin added that this "groundbreaking" memo respects the two sides' confidentiality and legal considerations, adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
Meanwhile, Raed Ahmed, Managing Partner at EY - Jordan, affirmed that the memo is the beginning of a "genuine" partnership with the AB, highlighting EY's commitment to provide "high-quality" training programs and share "best" auditing practices using technological solutions and international standards.
