Awqaf Ministry Suspends 18 Hajj Companies Over Death Of 99 Pilgrims
This decision came in response to a tragic incident announcement by the Foreign Ministry following the Hajj season, which revealed the deaths of 99 Jordanians who died of heat exhaustion while performing Hajj, suspected of having travelled with these companies.
In 2023, the ministry suspended three companies for two years, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammed Khalaileh stressed that the ministry will revoke the licence of any company found to be involved in this matter.
