Jordanian Delegation ‘Jordan Source’ Fosters Collaboration and Investment During Official Visit to Canada
(MENAFN- Asdaa BCW) A delegation from Jordan Source, representing the Jordanian Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MoDEE), successfully concluded an official visit to Canada. Led by Sameera Al-Zoubi, Secretary General of MoDEE and Deputy to the Jordanian Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, His Excellency Ahmad Hanandeh, the delegation included representatives from the ministry, as well as business leaders from the private sector. The visit aimed to strengthen ties between the ICT sectors of Jordan and Canada by exploring opportunities for collaboration, investment, and knowledge exchange.
The delegation kicked off their visit with Collision, North-America’s fastest growing technology conference. The event welcomed 40,000 attendees and 800 speakers from key figures in the ICT industry, where innovators, technology professionals, companies and visitors from around the world came together to network and discuss the future of the global technology industries.
An important goal for this delegation was to explore opportunities for research and collaboration with educational institutions. The Jordanian delegation arrived at the University of Waterloo to meet with representatives from the prestigious university, where they discussed how to advance the commercialization of emerging technologies. Whereas the Dais, the public policy and leadership think tank at Toronto Metropolitan University, gave an insightful presentation to the delegation in a small-group meeting.
Throughout their official visit, the Jordan Source representatives ensure the utilization of their Jordan Changemakers program, engaging with influential Jordanian diaspora to play a more active role in promoting the Kingdom’s ICT sector on a global scale. The Changemakers app serves as a hub for gathering Jordanian talent overseas, inspiring them to drive tangible change in Jordan.
“Jordan stands as a beacon of local talent and entrepreneurial spirit, offering fertile ground for startups and global enterprises alike,” emphasized Sameera Al-Zoubi, speaking on the visit. “The wealth of companies investing in Jordan and the incredible achievements of our local innovators attest to that. We are always thrilled about forging new ways of bringing our talent closer to the global stage.”
Crowning the delegation’s visit was the joint hosting of the ‘Gateway to MENA’ event alongside the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, aimed at fostering collaboration between both countries’ ICT sectors. The event, which welcomed over 120 attendees representing companies from both the Kingdom and Canada, featured panels, discussions, and presentations highlighting Jordan's prominence as an ICT hub and ongoing partnerships between the two nations.
Commenting on the event, Jordan’s Ambassador to Canada, Sabah Al-Rafie said, “We are committed to strengthening economic and technological ties between our countries. ‘Gateway to MENA’ exemplifies our shared vision, highlighting the immense potential for collaboration within the ICT sector.”
Jordan Source’s successful visit underscores its mission to position Jordan as an ideal hub for ICT investments and outsourcing. By exploring opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange between Jordan and Canada, this mission reaffirms the Kingdom’s leadership in the region’s technology landscape.
