World Gold Council Notes Significant Reduction In Uzbekistan's Gold Exports


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 8. The World Gold Council noted a significant reduction in Uzbekistan's Gold exports abroad in recent months, Trend reports.

According to the council, in April, Uzbekistan sold only 1 ton of gold, while in February and March, this volume amounted to 23 tons.

Furthermore, since the beginning of 2024, Uzbekistan has ranked second in the world in terms of net gold sales, second only to the Philippines, with a total volume of about 15 tons.

Meanwhile, data from the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan shows that in April and May, total gold exports reached $1.53 billion.

The volume of physical gold reserves in the reserves of the Central Bank decreased by 622 kilograms in two months and amounted to 356.45 tons.
