ABMC Operated 'New' Fleet Of Ships To Serve Jordan-Transport Minister

Amman, July 3 (Petra) - Minister of Transport, Wissam Tahtamouni, discussed with the head of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Nayef Fayez, cooperation aspects within the framework of enhancing operations in the transportation field in the southern Aqaba governorate.
The meeting, which was held in Aqaba, in the presence of the Director-General of the Amman-based Arab Bridge Maritime Company (ABMC), Adnan Al-Abadleh, focused on the necessity of activating joint coordination to overcome obstacles facing the governorate's maritime, land, and air transport sectors, as well as investment in this regard.
According to a Ministry of Transport statement on Wednesday, Tahtamouni said the city of Aqaba is a "vital and important" economic destination, thanks to its "strategic" location as a maritime and air gateway to Jordan.
The minister also noted the importance of maintaining work to facilitate trade and improve transportat activities in Aqaba to support the national economy.
Tahtamouni stressed the importance of the ABMC's role in supporting the national economy by facilitating movement of trade and transport between Jordan and neighboring countries.
The minister announced the ABMC has introduced a "new" fleet of ships to enhance its role as a commercial maritime gateway operated to serve Jordan.
