Tendulkar achieved this milestone against India's match against South Africa a Belfast in the second ODI of the three-match series. Team India was chasing 227 runs for the win. It was at that time that Tendulkar entered the game and opened the batting for India. he went on to play a knock of 93 runs from 106 balls reach the 15,000 run mark in 50-over cricket.
