Hunter Biden Convicted Of All 3 Felonies In Gun Trial US President Joe Biden's Son May Get Jail Term

(MENAFN- Live Mint) US President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden was convicted of all three felony charges in an ongoing gun trial. Hunter Biden was found guilty of lying about his drug use to illegally buy a gun. Hunter Biden had on a mandatory gun-purchase form stated that he was not illegally using to addicted to drugs.

Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years in prison, although as a first-time offender jail time is unlikely.

After the verdict to the gun trial was announced, Joe Bide , who faces US elections later this year, said that he will accept the outcome of his son Hunter's criminal case and 'respect the judicial process'.

"I am the President, but I am also a Dad," Joe Biden said. "Jill and I love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today." "I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal," Biden added.

Hunter Biden , following the trial said he's grateful for support from family and friends but 'disappointed' by federal gun case conviction.

Following a two-day deliberation period in Wilmington, Delaware, jurors reached a guilty verdict against Hunter Biden. The charges include lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, providing false information on the application regarding drug use, and unlawfully possessing the firearm for 11 days.

The US court judge did not specify a sentencing date for Hunter Biden, but such an event typically occurs within 120 days. This would fall around a month before the November 5 US presidential election.

The verdict was delivered less than two weeks following the conviction of Donald Trump on business fraud charges. Trump is expected to be Joe Biden's Republican rival in the upcoming November presidential election.

Now Hunter Biden and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, the US president's chief political rival, have both been convicted by American jurors in an election year that has been as much about the courtroom as about campaign events and rallies.
