Kuwait Finance Min, US Congressman Talk Combating Money Laundering

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 13 (KUNA) -- Minister of Finance and State Minister for Economic and Investment Affairs Dr. Anwar Al-Mudhaf discussed combating illegal financing and money laundering with visiting US congressman French Hill.
Financial terrorism, as well as future of virtual currencies and its effect on financial inclusion were also discussed during Al-Mudhaf's meeting with Hill, who is serving as Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chairman of THE subcommittee tasked with overseeing all areas related to digital assets and financial technology, relayed a Ministry-issued statement on Thursday.
Minister Al-Mudhaf spoke of the legal grounds, which Kuwaiti financial establishments are built on, the adopted practices and supervision they undergo, highlighting state efforts on reforming public budget structure and rebuilding the economy.
US Ambassador to the country Karen Sasahara attended the meeting. (end)
