Mumba: Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has recently given the green light to Akasa Air, a carrier based in India, for the initiation of regular flight services between Saudi Arabia and India.
This development marks a significant step towards enhancing air connectivity between the two countries, aiming to integrate Saudi Arabia more closely with the global aviation network. This initiative aligns with the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030, which aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a leading global logistics hub.

Starting from June 8, Akasa Air will operate 14 weekly flights connecting Jeddah with two major Indian cities. Specifically, there will be two flights from Ahmedabad and 12 flights from Mumbai to Jeddah each week. Furthermore, beginning July 4, the airline will expand its operations to include seven weekly flights from Mumbai to Riyadh. This expansion of flight services is expected to facilitate travel for both business and leisure between Saudi Arabia and India, offering more options and flexibility for travelers.

The authorization of Akasa Air by GACA to operate these flights is a testament to the ongoing efforts to boost the Kingdom's aviation sector as part of Vision 2030. By increasing the number of international flights to and from Saudi Arabia, GACA aims to enhance the country's connectivity with the rest of the world. This move is anticipated to have positive implications for tourism, trade, and economic relations between Saudi Arabia and India, further strengthening the bonds between the two nations.

As Saudi Arabia continues to work towards becoming a global logistics hub, initiatives such as these play a crucial role in achieving the objectives outlined in Vision 2030. The increased flight services not only promise to improve air travel convenience but also aim to support the Kingdom's broader economic development goals. With the commencement of Akasa Air's operations in the coming months, travelers can look forward to more accessible and frequent flights between Saudi Arabia and India.
