(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. The State Oil Companyof Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the US-based corporation Honeywell havesigned a cooperation agreement aimed at automating the energyindustry and advancing the energy transition, Trend reports viaSOCAR.

The agreement focuses on supporting the digitalization of theenergy sector, reducing emissions, enhancing safety, andimplementing innovative solutions. The signing took place during ameeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and a delegation ledby Anant Maheshwari, President and CEO of Honeywell's Global HighGrowth Regions.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with their longstanding andeffective collaboration, highlighting joint projects such as theconstruction of the STAR Oil Refinery and the modernization of theHeydar Aliyev Oil Refinery.

During the meeting, discussions included Azerbaijan's greenenergy policy and ongoing projects aimed at developing renewableenergy sources. The parties also explored opportunities forcooperation in industrial digitalization, sustainable development,the energy transition, human capital development, and jointparticipation in international events focused on renewableenergy.
