Azerbaijan, Australia Hold Political Consultations (PHOTO)

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. On May 1, the firstround of political consultations between the Ministries of ForeignAffairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Commonwealth ofAustralia took place in Baku, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministrysaid, Trend reports.

The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was headed byDeputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov, and thedelegation of the Commonwealth of Australia was headed by DeputySecretary of the European Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairsand Trade Rod Brazier.

During the political consultations, discussions took place onthe current state of relations between the two countries, expansionof cooperation and development prospects in the political,economic, humanitarian and other spheres.

Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov informed Rod Brazier in detailabout the current situation in the region in the post-conflictperiod, reconstruction work carried out in the territoriesliberated from occupation, as well as the mine clearanceprocess.

The prospects for cooperation between the two countries withinthe framework of international organizations were also discussed atthe meeting.
