Azerbaijani FM Receives Special Representative Of European Union (PHOTO)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 16. Azerbaijani ForeignMinister Jeyhun Bayramov has received EU Special Representative forCentral Asia Terhi Hakala, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani ForeignMinistry.

The parties exchanged views on the current situation andprospects for relations between Azerbaijan and the EU, the role ofAzerbaijan in relations between Central Asia and the EU, issues ofcooperation within the framework of international platforms andformats.

The main topic of discussion was the agreements reached with theEU in the field of energy security, communications and transport,as well as relations with Central Asia within the framework ofthis.

The importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on a strategicpartnership in the field of energy between Azerbaijan and the EU,which includes joint activities in the field of energy security, aswell as the development of alternative energy resources, incooperation in this area was emphasized.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the work carried out byAzerbaijan both in the Baku port and in the field of development oftransport and communications.

The parties then exchanged views on other bilateral and regionalissues of mutual interest.
