Moroccan Embassy Celebrates 24Th Anniversary Of King Mohammed Vi's Coronation

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The Moroccan embassy in Amman on Sunday held a celebration to mark the 24th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's accession to the Moroccan throne.

The occasion saw the presence of officials, diplomats, journalists and distinguished guests.

Addressing the gathering, Adel Oussi Hamou, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Moroccan embassy, praised Morocco and Jordan's "deep-rooted" relations, which he considers an exemplary model of coordination and unified stances.

He emphasised the multi-faceted and strategic partnership between the two nations, exemplified by projects in multiple sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture and tourism. The exchange of expertise in vocational training, specifically in areas related to tourism, food industries, construction, public works and water resource management was highlighted as well.

Hamou drew attention to the more than 120 agreements and memoranda of understanding that exist between Jordan and Morocco. These agreements span across various domains, including political, economic, health, education, culture, media, tourism, energy, minerals, sports, military cooperation and social affairs.

The diplomat commended His Majesty King Abdullah's vital role in promoting Arab solidarity and supporting collective Arab initiatives. Additionally, he praised Jordan's unwavering support for Morocco's territorial integrity with regard to the Western Sahara, and for respecting the autonomy initiative and relevant resolutions of the Security Council.

Hamou also stressed the importance of the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He noted the complementary roles played by Morocco and Jordan in serving the Palestinian cause, with King Mohammed VI chairing the Committee for Jerusalem and King Abdullah assuming the position of Custodian of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
