Patriarch Theophilos Of Jerusalem Condemns Israeli Violations At Al Aqsa

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III, Patriarch of the Holy City and all Jordan and Palestine, affirmed that any attack on Al Aqsa Mosque is a direct attack on the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and a flagrant violation of freedom of worship and the sanctity of holy places.

In a statement on Thursday, the patriarch said that Al Aqsa Mosque is the exclusive property of Muslims alone, and is under the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The patriarch stressed that maintaining the status quo is necessary to ensure the stability of the region and respect for sanctities, and that any violation of this situation requires concerted efforts to deter it, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Patriarch Theophilos III strongly condemned any entry into Al Aqsa Mosque by anyone without the consent of Muslim authorities, considering it an "aggressive intrusion" that violates logic, truth and the understandings of the status quo.
