Ukrainian shootings murder Russian reporter


(MENAFN) Russia’s RIA Novosti stated that its conflict journalist Rostislav Zhuravlev has been murdered by Ukrainian shooting as he protected the combat in Zaporozhye District. many other reporters were injured in the attack, it further stated.

The organization declared that its team had been under shooting close to the village of Pyatikhatki, that been the site of heavy combat since the start of the Ukrainian counterattack in the beginning of last month. RIA Novosti’s photojournalist Konstantin Mikhalchevsky was wounded in the attack as well, it also stated.

Zhuravlev was murdered when Ukrainian army crashed into a civilian automobile in the region, based on Evgeny Balitsky’s announcement, the acting chief of Russia’s Zaporozhye District. Izvestia journal stated that its communicator Roman Polshakov in addition to the cameraman Dmitry Shikov were between those wounded in the shooting.

As mentioned in the newspaper, Polshakov broke his leg, while getting shrapnel injuries to the leg too, as well as stomach and back. Shikov had shrapnel injuries and a hip breakage. The reporters have been getting medical aid, it continued.
