Saudi Arabia criticizes insufficient deterrence of Islamic holiness infractions

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia on Saturday uttered its “strong condemnation and dissatisfaction” with an inability to take essential actions to stop the return of events of violations against Islamic holiness, based on the Kingdom’s foreign ministry statement.

Latest public violations of the Qur’an by ultranationalist assemblies in Sweden has caused wide-range rage between the worldwide society, while on Friday a man burned a book claimed to be the Qur’an in front of the Iraqi embassy in Copenhagen, the Danish capital.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that an “extremist group in Denmark burned a copy of the Holy Qur’an, and raised slogans of hatred and racism against Islam and Muslims, in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the capital, Copenhagen.”

The occurrences have pushed Middle Eastern countries to call for their Swedish as well as Danish envoys in objection. The ministry “expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation in the strongest terms of these acts that incite hatred and violence between religions.” and cautioned of “repeating these provocative acts” that disturb millions of Muslims worldwide and “are a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms.”
