Man Killed In Russia's Shelling Of Vovchansk


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian troops this morning shelled the border town of Vovchansk in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region, killing a civilian.

Kharkiv region governor Oleh Syniehubov said this in a post on telegram , Ukrinform reports.

"This morning, the Russian occupiers once again shelled the town of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv district. Unfortunately, a 40-year-old civilian man died. Emergency services have left for the scene," the post said.

In the past 24 hours, the enemy fired mortars, gun and rocket artillery, and other weapons at populated areas in the Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv districts.

"Yesterday, Vovchansk was shelled several times. At least four private residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged in the city. Fires broke out," Syniehubov said.

According to him, at least 11 private residential buildings were damaged in Russian shelling of Kupiansk from a Tyulpan self-propelled heavy mortar.

The enemy also shelled the outskirts of the villages of Ivashky and Odnorobivka of the Bohodukhiv district, the settlements of Dvorichna, Zapadne, and Synkivka of the Kupiansk district, Kozacha Lopan, and Strilecha of the Kharkiv district, and others.

Syniehubov said that in the Kupiansk sector, the Ukrainian military is reliably holding the defense and destroying the enemy, the Russians are not advancing.
