(MENAFN- KNN India) Punjab Pollution Control Board to extend consent to industries in mixed land areas

Chandigarh, July 18 (KNN)
Punjab's Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Tuesday assured industries that the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) will extend the consents in mixed land areas.

According to KNN India sources, he has
also instructed the Town Planners to reschedule the extension plan.

Earlier in May a protest by Ludhiana industrialists took place seeking a declaration of mixed land use areas as designated industrial areas in Punjab.

The meet was arranged by Kulwant Singh Sidhu M.L.A. to discuss the issue of Mixed Land Industry.

Senior most
officials from PPCB, Local Body & Housing & Development were present during the meeting.

The Minister accepted our request for not uprooting the Industry from Mix Land Areas, said D. S. Chawla, President, United Cycle & Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA).

During the meeting industrialists gave representations with strong pleadings and Master Plan was shown on the spot.
