FSB: Ukrainian plans to murder RT editor-in- chief thwarted


(MENAFN) the Federal Security Service (FSB) has declared that Russian police have aborted the killing approaches aiming at RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan as well as journalist Ksenia Sobchak, which were equipped by Ukrainian intelligence.

In a declaration on Saturday, the agency announced that, along with the Internal Ministry as well as the state Investigative Committee, an indeterminate figure of the “neo-Nazis from the Paragraph 88 group who were gathering information at the work and home addresses of Simonyan and Sobchak” had been detained.

In line with the FSB, those arrested were captured performing an inspection on Friday in Moscow as well as Ryazan Region.

Throughout the process, Russian police personnel detained a Kalashnikov attack rifle, 90 cartridges, rubber hoses, knives, brass knuckles, as well as handcuffs, the FSB stated. Representatives also noted that “computers with information confirming criminal intentions” were also detected.
