Ukraine`s slow counteroffensive doesn’t surprise high-level US general
(MENAFN) United States Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley stated on Friday that Ukraine’s counterattack against Russia is going to be tremendously costly for its hordes and is going to last for a couple of months.
Talking at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, the high-level United States army commander presented his opinion on the Ukraine war, stating, “it doesn’t surprise me at all” that Kiev’s much-hyped counterattack is going slower than anticipated.
“What I had said was this is going to take six, eight, ten weeks. It’s going to be very difficult. It’s going to be very long and it’s going to be very, very bloody,” he stated, remarking that Kiev’s advance has been hindered by Russian obstacles.
“No one should have any illusions about any of that,” he emphasized, adding that Ukraine is battling for existence against a robust opponent.
