Mudra: Next Steps Toward Just Peace For Ukraine Discussed In Netherlands

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) She said this in a comment to Ukrinform's correspondent in The Hague.

"We discussed the next practical steps needed to ensure a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine. The main focus was on areas where technical processes need to be accelerated: the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, the entry into force of the Convention establishing an International Claims Commission for Ukraine, as well as the further development of the international compensation mechanism as a whole. We also discussed strengthening the International Criminal Court, further reinforcing the overall architecture of international justice, and coordinating our foreign policy efforts to expand the geography of participants in the Special Tribunal and the compensation mechanism," Mudra said.

She stressed that "today our key task is to ensure that accountability mechanisms move forward without delay and reach full operational readiness as quickly as possible."

Mudra also expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its consistent leadership and principled position.

"The Netherlands plays a very important role in shaping this justice architecture together with Ukraine and international partners. We continue to call on all partners to accelerate the launch of these mechanisms, because justice is a necessary prerequisite for a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and an integral part of European and global security," she said.
