Ashghal Is Making Efforts To Qatar Make A Greener Place: Official

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) is striving to make Qatar a greener place while focusing on sustainability and environmental protection, Jasmine al-Sheikh, project design manager at the Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, has said.
Speaking to Gulf Times at Project Qatar 2023, al-Sheikh noted that Ashghal's infrastructure development and beautification projects are embodied with measures to ensure sustainability, with recycled and locally made projects getting due consideration.
“The elements of sustainability are very much tangible in the recently completed beautification projects, including the West Bay North Beach, Ras Bu Abboud Beach Development and Doha Central Development and Beautification projects,” the official said, adding that heritage features are also taken into account when development projects are implemented.
“We also make plans to preserve the past and heritage during the development of new areas, while also adding to their aesthetic features,” al-Sheikh added.
Regarding the reliance on locally made products, she said that all of Ashghal's projects promote Qatar-made products and manufacturers through its small-scale Qatari contractors initiative, Ta'heel.
The official went on to say that the use of modern technology is being promoted while trying to achieve digital transformation in all of the authority's projects.
