Doha: Qatar Airways made its maiden trip with Boeing 737 MAX 8 yesterday, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 morning.
The airlines shared a picture of the flight describing it as smooth operator. It added, "#QatarAirways first Boeing 737 MAX 8 is all ready to go to #Kuwait."
The QR1070 flight to Kuwait took off from Doha at 8:20am and landed in Kuwait City at 9:50am.
The utilization of the Boeing 737-8s will add capacity to help drive future growth, especially in short haul markets, which will be expanded from the Doha-Kuwait-Doha route to other nations, principally in the GCC as further approvals take place, stated the airlines in a press statement.
"As a rapidly growing airline, these efficient and modern aircraft are a welcome addition to the narrow body fleet to support our sustainable expansion plans as the world's leading airline," it added.
Qatar Airways has now received its second Boeing 737-8 and will receive the remaining 7 aircraft by end of July.
