Report Reveals Palestinian Children Traumatized by Israeli Forces' Excessive Use of Force

(MENAFN) The Defense for Children International Palestine movement has released a report detailing the impact of the Israeli forces' excessive use of force against civilians during incursions into Palestinian territories. According to the report, children in Jenin have been left living in constant fear and anxiety due to military action. The movement documented the testimonies of traumatized youngsters, highlighting that the Israeli forces' practices have violated the right to life of 17 children since the beginning of the year and have had significant effects on other children. These effects have manifested in their behavior, thinking, and academic performance, all of which are guaranteed by international law. The violence they have witnessed has threatened their psychological and social security, leaving them traumatized.

The report also revealed that six of the 17 children killed since the beginning of the year were from Jenin. Children have been used as human shields and detained for long hours in their homes, which were used as military barracks, sniper, and observation points during the storming of the city and its camp. These practices have greatly affected the children, according to the report.

The testimonies of Palestinian children reveal the devastating impact of the Israeli forces' excessive use of force. One 17-year-old child shared how he and his colleague were heading to school when the Israeli army stormed the camp, shooting from all directions and killing his friend. They had been planning to graduate from school, go to university, and study together, but all of that was shattered. Another 16-year-old child shared how the occupation's raids into the camp have become routine, leaving them afraid to leave their homes.

Khaled Quzmar, DCIP director, has emphasized that the Israeli army's use of excessive force has left Palestinian children with no sense of security and no confidence in the future. The report serves as a reminder of the devastating impact of military action on innocent children and highlights the need for greater protection for children in conflict zones.
