Doha: The Philippines Embassy in Qatar cautions Filipino expats and the general public against a fake Facebook account posing as its official page.
In a statement , the consulate further said that the fake account has been 'responding to netizens on the Embassy's very own Facebook page.'
'It should be noted that the official FB account of the Embassy has a blue check mark right after the account name, which serves as a verified badge to confirm that the FB page is authentic,' said the Embassy.
Showing comparison, the Embassy also drew attention to the fake account's name which is misspelled as 'Philippine Embasyqatar'.
'While the Embassy has already reported this matter to relevant authorities and Facebook, the Embassy reminds everyone to be vigilant when using the social media,' it concluded.
