Amman, Feb. 19 (Petra)--King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) on Sunday signed a cooperation agreement with European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO) in the field of joint education, training, and research in radiation oncology, to enhance Jordanian medical competencies specialized in oncology, by integrating the optimal treatment technologies for cancer patients.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, KHCC Director General, Assem Mansour, said the agreement allows the center's physicians to acquire new expertise in tumor treatment.
Mansour also noted the first activity held under the agreement was an intensive educational course on treatment of head and neck tumors.
Mansour lauded this scientific cooperation, which would raise level of cancer treatment and scientific research in Jordan and the Arab region.
Under the agreement, he announced annual educational courses will be held in Jordan in various specialties for treatment of cancer tumors.
