The 19th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) will see more than 500 jewellery and watch brands display their collection from February 20 to 25 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).

Addressing a press conference yesterday, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, H E Akbar Al Baker, said organisers expect more than 30,000 visitors to patronise the exhibition.

“The Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition will be one of the headline events featured on the Qatar Tourism 2023 Calendar. This year's exhibition, the only business-to-consumer event in the region, is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors worldwide. Visitors can marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship of over 500 globally admired jewellery and watches brands during the event,” Al Baker said.

He added that many of Qatar's leading jewellery brands would reveal their latest collection to guests during the exhibition. Al Baker disclosed that this year's show would also feature 'jewellery with a cause' in a special partnership with Valentino. Education Above All will reveal a limited edition Valentino piece that carries the logo of Educate a Child.

“As the official airline partner of DJWE, we (Qatar Airways) are pleased to bring on board two of Qatar Duty Free's most iconic cafes, where visitors can savour the delicious food and beverages available at Harrods Tea Rooms and Vinci,” he added.

Organisers gave visitors a taste of delectable jewellery that'll be on display during DJWE as a unique array of extremely rare and exquisite pearls was presented. The pearls are exclusive from the Hussein Alfardan Gallery, a personal collection of natural pearls and part of Alfardan Jewellery.

Also, at the conference, Paillon Jewellery, owned by Qatar's Noora Al Ansari, had some designs on display. Meanwhile, Damas Jewellery will make its debut in this year's exhibition. The regional giant will reveal their Alif collection, a selection of exceptional high-end pieces and unique jewellery creations.

Louis Vuitton is expected to showcase their“Fantasy necklace,” a must-see 2.56-carat Monogram flower-cut diamond, for the first time in the event.

Phillips, a leading global platform for buying and selling 20th and 21st-century art and design, will be present at this year's DJWE. In association with Bacs & Russo, Phillips holds the world record for the most successful watch auctions. According to organisers, a new partnership under Al Darwish Jewellery will see the addition of IDT Gemological Laboratories at this year's DJWE, allowing customers to have their jewellery examined and certified by an internationally accredited institute.

Qatar Tourism's Qatari Designers initiative will also return this year. Established in 2017, the initiative has historically provided some of the country's most recognised contemporary jewellery and watch brands with a springboard to help elevate their developing businesses.

Turkish and Indian pavilions will also be present with bespoke designs that each celebrate these countries' unique heritage and culture.

“Qatar is now well and truly placed on the global tourism map as a dynamic, family-oriented, family-friendly destination. By continuing to develop our leisure and hospitality infrastructure and host internationally renowned events, Qatar is primed to achieve its goal of welcoming over six million visitors by the year 2030,” Al Baker stressed. This year's edition of DJWE is supported by Qatar National Bank (QNB) as the Official Sponsor and Qatar Airways as the Official Airline Partner.
