Al Rayyan Unveil Boufal As Latest International Recruit

Doha: Al Rayyan SC yesterday unveiled their latest international recruit, Moroccan striker Sofiane Boufal, at a ceremony in Doha.

Boufal, who played a vital role in Morocco's historic run at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, was introduced to media at the ceremony which was also attended by club President sheikh Ali bin Saud Al Thani and coach Nicolas Cordova among other officials.

Boufal left his former club, French Ligue 1 club Angers following a three-year stint since 2020, and had scored 13 goals in 56 appearances.

The 29-year-old former Southampton player Boufal has scored six goals for his national team in 39 matches.

Boufal won the award for best African player in the French League in 2016, as a culmination of his wonderful career with the club Lille before moving to the Premier League side where he played 84 matches from 2016-2020.
