NATO: Tanks sent to Ukraine will make a difference in its war with Russia
(MENAFN- Hip Hop-24) NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the tanks that the United States, Britain and Germany will give to Ukraine could make a big difference in the battle against Russia.
This came in a press statement on Wednesday, regarding Washington's decision to supply Kyiv with American Abrams tanks.
Stoltenberg welcomed the decision of US President Joe Biden and his administration regarding the Abrams tanks, noting that NATO allies are united in their support for Ukraine's self-defense.
He added that American tanks along with British Challenger tanks and German Leopard tanks could make a big difference in the war against Russia.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden officially announced the delivery of 31 Abrams M1 tanks to Kyiv, stressing that this military aid will enhance the ability of Ukrainian forces to repel the ongoing Russian attack.
On Wednesday, Germany announced its intention to send 14 Leopard combat tanks to Ukraine.
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, which was followed by international rejection and economic sanctions against Moscow.
Russia requires to end its process Kyiv's abandonment of plans to join military entities, which the latter considers an "interference" in its sovereignty.
