Lorestan district yearly pomegranate output reaches 65,000 tons


(MENAFN) The horticulture director of Lorestan district’s Agriculture Department declared the output of 65,000 tons of pomegranates in the district an annum.

Around the pomegranate orchards in Lorestan, Nasser Kiani asserted presently, the overall pomegranate orchards in the district are 3500 hectares, of which 1,200 hectares are in Khorramabad, 1,800 hectares in Kouhdasht, and the rest are in additional areas.

The overall output of pomegranate in the area is 20,000 tons in Khorramabad, 35,000 tons in Kouhdasht, as well as the rest in additional districts, he also noted.

The representative additionally stated that 30 percent of the pomegranates outputted are consumed inside the area as well as 70 percent in the bordering districts.
