CBI head takes trip to UAE to ease banking, economic ties

(MENAFN) Head of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammadreza Farzin is taking a trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as his second foreign destination since he took office in December, targeting to ease the financial and banking ties with the nation.

According to the CBI portal report, throughout this trip, Farzin held a meeting with UAE’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) Khaled Mohamed Balama.

The two nations talked about methods of reinforcing two-sided ties among Iran and the UAE, mainly in the economic and banking sectors throughout the discussions.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari also accompanied Farzin in his gathering with the UAE representatives.

CBI portal earlier mentioned in a report that supplying economic resources for the Iranian businessmen active in the UAE and technical monetary negotiations around the compatibility of the two nations’ currency and trade systems are also between the targets of Farzin’s trip to the UAE.
