Previous US pilot in Australia to battle extradition verdict

(MENAFN) A previous US pilot in Australia is going to battle his extradition verdict following Canberra approved Washington’s demand to extradite him, who is suspected of training Chinese pilots, as reported by domestic media on Tuesday.

Previous US Marine Daniel Edmund Duggan, who is 54 years old, is being hosted by Australian police after his detain in October in 2022.

A domestic court in Sydney was informed that the nation’s Attorney General Mark Dreyfus approved a demand from the US to extradite their previous citizen just before Christmas, according to reports by ABC News.

Nonetheless, Duggan's lawyer Dennis Miralis stated that his client denies the claims and aims to battle the attorney general’s order.

"We will continue to maintain vigorous lines of communication with the Attorney-General," Miralis stated, in line with the broadcaster.

He also suspected the jail authorities of getting straight orders from the US, handling his client differently, and holding him in a separate area with imprisoned terrorists, in violation of the Extradition Act.
