(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) National organizer of the Samagi Vanitha Balavegaya (SVB) of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Hirunika Premachandra, has come under fire over a comment she made with regards to the“balls” of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Speaking at an event attended by SJB Leader Sajith Premadasa and his wife over the weekend, Premachandra said that the only thing left for the President to hide are his“balls”.
“All i can tell Ranil Rajapaksa is to put those marbles inside that briefcase when travelling overseas,” she said.
The briefcase she commented on was a briefcase especially designed by the Army for the President to take secret documents with him when travelling overseas.
Founder Chairperson, Stop Child Cruelty Trust, Dr. Tush Wickramanayaka questioned how it was not OK to laugh at comments made recently over Premachandra's breasts but yet its OK to laugh at the President's testicles.
SJB member of the Moratuwa Municipal Council, Lihini Fernando, said that such comments are not part of the SJB politics.
“This is wrong n this form of politics is also wrong. This is not the SJB politics that we believe should be. This form of sensational politics should be rejected in its entirety and a principle stand must be taken by all parties to put an end to it,” she tweeted.
SJB member Chamathka Ratnayake said that as long as the electorate enjoys political speeches with poor humour and deprecating sound-bites, politicians, both male and female, will continue to play to the gallery.
“As much as that is reality, it doesn't make it right and needs to change,” she added in a tweet. (Colombo Gazette)
