Borsa Istanbul opens with more than 5,000 points at Thursday’s start


(MENAFN) Turkey’s main share index started at a record peak of 5,046.30 points on Thursday, surging 1.38 percent, or 68.66 points, from the prior end.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was 0.31 percent higher to reach an all-time ending record of 4,977.64 points on Wednesday, with a day to day exchange capacity of 120.3 billion Turkish liras (USD6.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira selling price stood at 18.6387 as of 10.15 AM regional time (0715GMT), and the euro/Turkish lira trading price reached 19.4732, whereas a British pound exchanged for 22.5516 Turkish liras.

International benchmark Brent crude sold at USD84.69 per barrel at 10.14 AM regional time (07:14 GMT), surging 0.52 percent from the ending value of USD84.25 per barrel in the prior exchange session.

In the meantime, American main West Texas Intermediate (WTI) sold at USD78.59 a barrel, a 0.50 percent earn following the last session ended at USD78.20 per barrel.
