Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Celebrates Taha Hussein's Birth Anniversary

DUBAI, 19th November, 2022 (WAM) – The Mohammed bin Rashid Library (MBRL), in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, co-hosted the“Taha Hussein Days” event on November 17-18, to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Dean of Arabic Literature and highlight his creative and literary thought and criticism.

With a host of unique activities, Taha Hussein Days featured a performance of the soundtrack for the movie“Al-Ayyam”, along with several literary sessions that shed the light on the presence of women in the literature and life of Taha Hussein. where Dr. Laila Al-Obaidly interviewed author Parween Habib on her book“I Saw with her Eyes”.

Additionally, the event also featured a cinematic screening of Hussein's masterpiece 'Doaa Al-Karawan' (The Nightingale's Prayer), and a discussion on his book“Al-Ayyam” (The Days).

Taha Hussein Days event was part of the MBRL's year-round unique programme of entertaining and educational events, lectures, and workshops, in line with its mission and strategy to raise scientific and cultural awareness among all members of society.
