UN Official Confirms Agreement On One-Day Pause In 'Grain Corridor' Operation

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Ukrainian and Turkish delegations and UN representatives in the Joint Coordination Center agreed on the pause in the movement of ships through the 'grain corridor' on November 2. Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, confirmed this to journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from New York.
Haq emphasized that this is due to the suspension of Russia's participation in the grain initiative. 'Although grain transportation operations continue, despite Russia's position. In particular, on Tuesday, 36 inspections were carried out on board the ships leaving the ports,' the official said.
As noted, Amir Abdulla, the UN Coordinator for Black Sea Grain Initiative, closely cooperates with the Turkish delegation and 'makes every effort to restore Russia's full-fledged participation.'
