Kuwait-Funded School Inaugurated In Yemen's Lahij


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ADEN, Nov 1 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti-funded school was inaugurated Tuesday in Yemen's Lahij by Yemeni Minister of Social Affairs Mohammad al-Zarori and Governor Ahmad Turki.
Funded by Kuwait Society for Relief (KSR), the school will benefit 320 male and female students in Bir Nasser district in the governorate.
Speaking to KUNA in a statement, al-Zarori expressed thanked, in the name of Yemen's government, Kuwait, His Highness the Amir, the government and people for this generous support to Yemenis, lauding the KSR's role in backing the governorate.
The facility will offer its services to residents of the area who are in dire need of schools, he said.
He added that such vital projects are meant to help Yemenis face tough living conditions.
Meanwhile, Turki praised, in a press statement, the KRS' support and the communication foundation for humanitarian development for their fruitful cooperation in financing and implementing this development project that has a positive impact on the lives of the people of the region.
KRS Director General in Yemen Mahmoud al-Mesbah said the projects aim to build eight classrooms, a library, bathrooms and a solar energy unit, noting that the society renovated more than 35 schools. (end)
